Not many medical school students pursue music after graduation.
Putting residency on hold, Class Jackson is as bold as his music which one journalist described as “what I’d imagine if Chris Brown, Frank Ocean, and LANY miraculously had a baby together”. One of Austin’s hidden pop gems, Jackson is a unique artist whose debut EP, To Santa and Little Brothers, weaves thought provoking lyrics with earworm melodies and tight production that make for the perfect prescription for anyone who knows the struggle of teenage years, overanalyzing relationships, has a broken heart, or just wants to dance.
Class Jackson is moody and vibrant. Darkness in IMAX color. A pop painting with strokes of hip hop, R&B, and rock inked with a singer/songwriter paintbrush. Girls. Friends. Life as a young adult. Conflicts in the world. And girls. The chaos of growing up permeates through the music that captures these experiences through a 2AM bedroom and neon light soundscape.
Influenced by the likes of The 1975, John Mayer, Coldplay, and the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson, Class converted his acoustic singer/songwriter act into the energetic and lively pop act that he is now. “I got tired of just standing there on stage in front of a mic with an acoustic guitar. I like to dance and I love music that makes you want to move. I decided I needed to make a change so I could not just sing but really perform and entertain like so many of my idols,” Class tells us. “I’ve been practicing in my bedroom to my favorite songs long enough!”
He achieved some success as a singer/songwriter having appeared on the front page of ReverbNation in its heyday and appearing on iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts with his second EP. He now hopes to go far beyond those achievements as he ambitiously creates a trilogy of EPs that build the story of a character who will be the primary focus of his debut, concept album, Coupe Cathedral. With the first installment of the trilogy already out, Red Roses and Lilies of the Field, the second and third EPs respectively, are under works as the Coupe Cathedral plot line and Class Jackson’s budding career develop.
